Chennai Super Kings (CSK) veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has talked about his famous match-winning knock for his side against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 final played in Ahmedabad. On the last two deliveries of the summit clash, Chennai required 10 off two. In the crunch situation, the 36-year-old stepped up and hit a couple of boundaries to help his side walk back victorious and lift the coveted trophy for the record fifth time. Following the game, Jadeja was also lifted by his captain MS Dhoni, who expressed his joy at his team’s massive achievement.
Recently, Jadeja appeared in a chat show with his former Team India teammate Ravichandran Ashwin and revealed his experience regarding his famous innings. “When CSK needed 10 off two, I realised It was going to be one of the biggest opportunities in my career. In the worst-case scenario, what can actually you tell? You might say I didn‘t win the match but yeah what if I take the team home from here?”

He also added, “As a cricketer, my confidence would boost and as a team player, I would be satiated that I fulfilled the expectations of my team. Mahi bhai had groomed me for years and I thought it was time for me to payback. Fortunately, I succeeded in clearing the boundary on both deliveries. My mindset was nothing to lose.”
Ravindra Jadeja to be seen in action for India in England
After the conclusion of CSK’s IPL 2025 campaign, Ravindra Jadeja will next be seen India whites against England in the five-match Test series to be played from June 20 to August 4. Jadeja is the most-experienced player in the squad as he has played a lot of cricket under English conditions.
Touring England from 2014 to 2023, he has racked up 27 wickets in 21 innings of 12 matches. His responsibility will be to spearhead India’s spin-bowling attack with the assistance from Kuldeep yadav and Washington Sundar.
