India pacer Mukesh Kumar has dropped a cryptic story on Instagram after he faced a snub in India’s 15-member squad for the England Test tour, which will kick off with the first Test in Leeds on June 20. Mukesh recently appeared in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, representing Delhi Capitals (DC). The pacer had an ordinary tournament as he clinched only 12 wickets in 12 games at an economy of 10.32. Following the marquee T20 competition, when Team India was announced for the England Test assignment, Mukesh's name wasn’t announced. Arshdeep Singh, Akash Deep and Prasidh Krishna were preferred over him to bolster India’s fast-bowling attack.

On June 17, Harshit Rana was added to the squad and a day after this recent development, Mukesh’s social media story has grabbed eyeballs. Taking to Instagram, he wrote, “Karma bides its time. You will always have to watch out. Karma is unforgiving and always gets payback.”

Mukesh Kumar’s Test record and recent First-class numbers

Mukesh Kumar has played three Tests for India thus far, in which he has picked up seven wickets in six innings. His last Test appearance came against England in February 2024 in Visakhapatnam. In India’s 106-run win, the speedster could chip in with one wicket. Following the series, he couldn’t find a place in India’s squad for three Tests against New Zealand at home. Harshit Rana and Akash Deep succeeded to reserve their spots in the side.

However, his performance was decent in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25, the Indian First-class tournament. Donning Bengal’s jersey, the 31-year-old looked effective with the ball as he took 10 wickets in four innings of two games. However, his performance wasn’t requisite to convince selectors to pick him up for the England tour.
