The Delhi Capitals (DC) have been handed a massive setback as they will miss the services of Australia’s top-order batter, Jake Fraser-McGurk. This comes just days ahead of resumption of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, after the tournament was suspended for a week, following heightened tensions between India and Pakistan.
With the Axar Patel-led side fighting for a place in the playoffs of IPL 2025, the decision from Jake Fraser-McGurk comes after Cricket Australia backed its players’ decision to travel to India for the remaining fixtures of skip it. “Cricket Australia will support players in their individual decisions whether to return to India or not. Team management will work through the preparation implications for the World Test Championship final for those players who choose to play in the remaining IPL matches. We are maintaining communication with the Australian Government and BCCI around security arrangements and safety,” CA stated.
