Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan is the latest to join a County Club for a brief stint in the ongoing County Championship. Ishan Kishan, who has been out of the Indian setup for more than a year now, is set to join Nottinghamshire for a brief two-game stint in the County Championship 2025.

The 26-year-old, who has been roped in as a replacement player for Kyle Verreynne, will be available for two red-ball fixtures, against Yorkshire and Somerset this month. With this, he is set to mark his first experience in the English country cricket after a brilliant First-Class season last year in India.

It is to be noted, Kishan will be joining Yuzvendra Chahal in the English county after the spinner confirmed his return for the club’s Division Two campaign from June 22. The leg-spinner enjoyed a memorable stint with Northamptonshire in 2024, claiming 19 wickets in four County Championship matches. He also left an impact in the One-Day Cup, securing a five-wicket haul against Kent.

"I'm feeling very excited to get my first taste of playing county cricket in England, and it will be a great chance to showcase my skills," Kishan said as per a statement on club website. "I want to make sure I am the best cricketer I can be, and playing in English conditions will really help me to learn new skills," Kishan added.

Speaking on the County Club, with four wins in seven games, Nottinghamshire currently sit on top of Division One of the County Championship. They will next play Yorkshire from Sunday, June 22 at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
