In the last double-header Sunday of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, in the scorching afternoon heat of Ahmedabad, the Gujarat Titans (GT) are hosting former champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in match 67 of the season. However, both teams are coming off a similar results in their respective matches, CSK will be vying to get that one win under MS Dhoni’s captaincy.

As the two skippers walked out for toss, it was Captain Cool, MS Dhoni of CSK, who won the toss and elected to bat first. “We will bat first. It (pitch) looks nice and hard, think it will remain the same throughout the 40 overs. It's quite hot, looks like a good track,” Dhoni said after electing to bat first.

Deepak Hooda replaces R Ashwin in CSK XI vs GT

When inquired of the team combination for his last match of the season, MS Dhoni confirmed of a change, which saw Deepak Hooda replace veteran all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin. “We are last in the table, we will still remain last, if win or lose. Need to enjoy our cricket. We have one change. Hooda is back for Ashwin,” he added.

On the other hand, GT also called in for a change in their XI as Gerald Coetzee replaced Kagiso Rabada in their XI for their final clash of the league stage in the 2025 season.
