On Tuesday, June 3, the Rajat Patidar-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) to get their hands on their maiden IPL title at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After being put to bat first, RCB posted 190/9 in their stipulated 20 overs, courtesy a gritty 35-ball 43 from Virat Kohli. Thereafter, the RCB bowlers chipped in, especially Krunal Pandya, who registered brilliant figures of 2/17 in his four-over spell.
With a disciplined line and length from Krunal Pandya, he also bagged the Player of the Match, making him the first player to win Player of the Match award on two separate occasions in IPL final. After his belligerence with the ball, he also revealed his conversation with his brother, Hardik Pandya, who ended his IPL 2025 campaign after MI was knocked out after going down against PBKS in Qualifier 2.

However, Hardik Pandya’s season might have ended early, their home will surely get another trophy, making it nine among the two of them. Speaking after winning the POTM award, Krunal revealed his chat with his brother as he said, “Have enjoyed my time with RCB so far. I told them on day one that I like to win trophies. I told Hardik too that the Pandya household will have nine trophies in 11 years.”
Afterwards, Hardik Pandya also did not shy as he shared an emotional post for his brother, who starred with the ball. Taking to his Instagram story, he shared a picture of Krunal in RCB colours and wrote, “In tears right now. Proud of you bhai” with red-heart emoji and an evil eye.
It is to be noted that Krunal Pandya now has nine IPL titles to his name - three with MI and one that he won last night with RCB.
