BMPS 2025 Grand Finals concluded in New Delhi on 6 July, where Team Aryan x TMG Gaming clinched the title, INR 1.2 Crore prize money, and a golden ticket to represent India at the Esports World Cup 2025. But the BMPS 2025 Finals weren’t just about celebrations and the excitement of a grand LAN experience. For teams like 2OP Official, it became a true mental battle, as they struggled to perform under the immense pressure of fans.
After the BMPS 2025 Grand Finals, SportsTiger sat down with 17-year-old Jitesh “Liability” Mishra, captain of team 2OP Official, and assaulter Yash “Botfire” Gujar, where they shared the pressure before the LAN finals, family, hate messages, and performance in the LAN Finals.
2OP Official qualified for the BMPS 2025 in style by taking WWCD in the last match of the Semi Finals Week 2. In this match, they play a prominent player of a very popular club in Indian esports. After this, the team failed to qualify for the finals, and all fans started abusing the players of 2OP Official.
We were receiving hate messages even 30 minutes before our matches: 2OP Botfire on pressure and impact on performance
“This was our first time playing a LAN final, and with that comes a lot of pressure. Some of the audience supported us, but there were also negative voices. That really got to us. On the first day itself, we started receiving hate messages even 30 minutes before our matches – people saying things like ‘let’s see what you do now.’ That really affected our mindset.
By the second day, we decided to stay off social media and tried to calm ourselves down. That helped a bit, and our performance slightly improved. But we also tried implementing new strategies, which unfortunately didn’t work out as expected.”
If you can’t support us, at least don’t spread hate: Yash Gujar on hate messages, and fans targeting families
“I just want to say one thing – if you can’t support us, at least don’t spread hate. Families have nothing to do with this. They are far removed from the game, and targeting them is completely wrong.”
"Botfire" on strategic mistakes in the BMPS 2025 Grand Finals:
“The plans we came up with didn’t work out. In Round 3 and even in the semi-finals, we used to take fights confidently. But in the finals, we tried to play safe, focusing more on zone control and delaying our engagements. That approach failed.
But it was a learning experience. We’ve taken away a lot from this, and next time, these mistakes won’t be repeated.”
Jitesh “Liability” Mishra, on family support throughout this LAN journey
“Our families have always supported us. Of course, the pressure was there, but I wasn’t really affected by the audience. Since Round 3, I’ve had my Instagram account turned off, just to stay away from negativity and focus on the game.”
2OP Official finished at the bottom of the table in the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series 2025 Grand Finals in Delhi, securing 40 points in 18 matches, including one WWCD.
