
Rajat Patidar recently spoke up on being appointed as captain of Royal Challengers Bengaluru for the ongoing IPL 2025. The 31-year-old revealed that he got the hint last year that he might get an opportunity to lead the franchise. Patidar was handed over RCB captaincy ahead of the of the ongoing season after former skipper Faf du Plessis was released by the franchise ahead of the mega auction last year.
In his interview with JioHotstar, the host Rajat Patidar asked Rajat Patidar how it feels to lead a franchise like RCB. To this, Patidar replied “To be honest, I didn’t think that when I joined the team in 2022. However, last year I got the hint that I might get the opportunity to become RCB captain. They asked me if I can lead RCB, to which I replied that I can but will lead my state team first. So everything went well and is still going well now.”
RCB in verge of getting qualified to IPL 2025 playoffs
Royal Challengers Bengaluru are set to face Kolkata Knight Riders at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru as IPL 2025 will resume on May 17 after a break of nine days. RCB are currently at the second spot in the points table with eight wins and three losses so far. Now, they will officially confirm their place in the playoffs if they win their next game against KKR.
Talking about KKR, the defending champions are in a tricky situation in the ongoing season standing at sixth spot with five wins and six losses. Now, KKR need to win all their remaining games to keep their hopes alive for the playoffs. The tournament is resuming after a small break and the final is shifted from May 25 to June 3.
