With the next edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) just round the corner, Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) have announced their new head coach. With the tournament set to return in August this year, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)-owned franchise team have named Dwayne Bravo as their head coach after they secured his services prior to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Bravo will take over the reins from Phil Simmons, who is now the head coach of Bangladesh men’s cricket team. Furthermore, Bravo, who has previously played for the Knight Riders in nine of 11 seasons, featured in 107 matches, scoring 1155 runs and picking 129 wickets.

Taking to social media, the Knight Riders-owned franchise confirmed the appointment of Bravo ahead of CPL 2025. “Sir Champion is back again, but this time he will wear a new hat for TKR. Welcome, Head Coach, Dwayne Bravo”, Trinbago Knight Riders captioned the post on X.
On being appointed the head coach, former Windies all-rounder reacted, stating, "It's an honor to be given the opportunity to be Head Coach of TKR, a team that's very close to my heart. I would like to personally thank Coach Phil Simmons for his time and commitment over the last few years, and now I look forward to this new challenge for me and my staff.”
