Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans looked glum after witnessing Lucknow Super Giants’ captain (LSG) Rishabh Pant’s innings against their team in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 game at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. Riding on Pant’s sensational batting display, LSG delivered a mammoth target of 228 to the visitors. Chasing the mammoth target, RCB openers Virat Kohli and Phil Salt built a ferocious 61-run opening stand off just 34 balls. Salt clobbered rapid 30 runs off 19 balls with six fours while Kohli also made a crucial contribution of 29 off just 15.

Salt fell in the sixth over while striving to attack Akash Singh. However, noting his partnership with the legend, RCB supporters couldn’t hold their excitement and exuded confidence with their tweets on X. An X user named Vaishnav Sharan Sharma wrote, “Don't worry doston.. Boys are playing very well. Virat Kohli. Phil Salt. #RCBvLSG.”

RCB lose captain Rajat Patidar and Liam Livingstone in quick succession

After Salt's fall, RCB are in trouble as they have lost Rajat Patidar in the eight over of the innings. Will’O Rourke delivered the double blow to Bengaluru by picking both batters on back-to-back deliveries. Eyes are now set on veteran Kohli, who is at his score of unbeaten 53 off 28. After Livingstone’s departure, Mayank Agarwal joined the star batter in the middle.

Agarwal, who is in the team after replacing injured Devdutt Padikkal, has got the perfect opportunity to prove himself with his bat in the crunch situation. However, RCB lost a big wicket as Virat Kohli got out after scoring 54 runs off 30 balls.
