England assistant coach Marcus Trescothick has hailed the competitive cricket between his team and India in the third Test getting played at iconic Lord’s. On the final hour of the fourth day of the game, both teams engage in a verbal fight against each other. There were exchanges of words among the players. In recent times, it’s witnessed that heated conversations and sledging have reduced as players nowadays play a lot of franchise cricket and noting that fact in their mind, they think that the players they would sledge might become teammates in a franchise league in the future.
Trescothick highlighted this fact and believes that the heated conversations in the ongoing match are making the game intriguing as cricket has become friendly in the last few years because the players are together in leagues all over the globe. "Cricket has got a bit more friendly over the past few years because the players are together in franchise tournaments all over the world. Sometimes it's good to create something in the game. Both teams are passionate about playing the game and it is understandable that at times it gets to a boiling point” said Trescothick.

Marcus Trescothick had predicted that the first hour of the fifth day would reveal the fate of the Lord’s contest. He had said, “It will revolve around the first hour of the day and how positive India can be or how dominant we can be and how many wickets we can get."
On the first hour of the fifth day, Team India lost four batters. Rishabh Pant became the victim of Jofra Archer and following him, KL Rahul, Washington Sundar, and Nitish Kumar Reddy went back to the pavilion. After the first session of the day, India accumulated 112/8 on the board.
