Christian Norgaard, the 31-year-old Danish international, who played for Brentford FC in the previous campaign is all set to join Arsenal. The midfielder joined Brentford in the year 2021, and ever since his debut, Norgaard has made 201 interceptions which is the most for any Premier League player during this period. He also ranks second overall for recoveries (844) and third for tackles won (189) since his debut. A modern defensive-anchor player, is ready to step into a new challenge in his career after parting ways with Brenford.
According to Fabrizio Romano, “Arsenal and Brentford have exchanged all documents last week for Christian Nørgaard deal. Second part of the medical is also completed, contracts are signed and the official statement is to follow next.” This symbolises that the Danish midfielder is all set to join the Gunners in a transfer worth £10m with additional add-ons included. He will prove to be another solid addition in the midfield for Mikel Arteta, especially after the departure of Thomas Partey.
Mikel Arteta adds Martin Zubimendi to Arsenal midfield in latest signing
Arsenal recently made the official announcement of signing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad. Zubimendi is another addition to the team which already is stacked with midfielders like Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and Mikel Merino. Christian Norgaard will join this experienced midfield, looking like serious contenders to win the Premier League this season after managing to finish second consecutively from the past three seasons.
Arsenal have also signed Kepa Arizzabalaga from Chelsea and reportedly are in the race to sign Victor Gyokeres from Sporting CP.
