India pacer Mohammed Shami came heavily on an online portal that asserted the India speedster is contemplating retirement. The report alluded to Shami thinking of bidding adieu to Tests following the recent retirement of veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli from cricket’s oldest format. The India quick is currently serving Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. This year, he hasn’t performed upto his reputation, claiming only six wickets in nine matches at an expensive economy of 11.23. After viewing the report, Shami showed his aggressive side and revealed that the 34-year-old is going to serve India in red-ball cricket for a long time.

The report claimed with the quote, “Mohammed Shami Retirement: After Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Indian Pacer Likely To Bid Adieu To Test Cricket.” Replying to the media portal, Shami on his Instagram story wrote, "Very well done, Maharaj. Apna job ke din bhi ginloo kitna adieu hai. Badme dekhle humara aap. Jaise ne satyinaash kar diya future ka. Kabhi toh accha bol liya kare. Aaj ka sabse kharab story sorry.”

Reports claim Mohammed Shami might not get spot in India’s squad for England tour

Reports are emerging that Mohammed Shami might not be part of Team India’s squad that will be selected to play five Tests in England. As per Times of India report, Shami is struggling to conclude his run-up and the ball he is delivering is not carrying to the wicketkeeper as it used to.

Shami last appeared in India whites in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final played against Australia at the Oval in June 2023. However, he has been active for India in white-ball cricket and his previous appearance happened in Champions Trophy 2025, which was won by the Men in Blue under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy.
