The Indian cricket team is currently locking horns with England in a highly-anctipated five-match Test series. While the series currently stand leveled at 1-1 after the Shubman Gill-led Men in Blue bounced back in the second Test to etch a historic win at Edgbaston in Birmingham. It is to be noted that Team India went down by five wickets in the series opener, but responded strongly, registering a convincing win by 336-run margin.

As the two sides now look towards the third Test, which is set to be played from July 10 to 14 at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, former India cricketer and father of one of the greats, Yuvraj Singh, stood in support of the visiting side. Yograj, who has been vocal of his opinions across social media, looked calm and composed as he offered support to the India team.

We should not speak about Gautam Gambhir: Yograj Singh

Speaking with ANI, Yograj said, "Indian players are consistently growing and improving their game. We will always support them.” The 67-year-old also stood by former India cricketer and the current head coach Gautam Gambhir as he continued, “We should not speak about Gautam Gambhir because he is doing well. Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, and Rahul Dravid are giving back to cricket because they have received so much.”

The former India cricketer was also of the opinion that even if India loses the series, no one should demoralise them. “Even if our team loses the series, we should not demoralise them. If you lose, you will not be there to explain; if you win, you don't have to explain. We hope that we win the series under the captaincy of Shubman Gill," he added.

It is to be noted that since Gautam Gambhir took over the reins from Rahul Dravid as Team India’s head coach, the Men in Blue have won only four Tests. While they won the two-match Test series against Bangladesh last year, their one victory came in Perth during the BGT 2024-25, followed by the Edgbaston win.
