Former India cricketer and one of the greats of the game of cricket, Sunil Gavaskar has been very vocal of his opinions, both on and off the field. Gavaskar, who is currently in England as a part of the commentary panel for the highly-anticipated India tour of England, recently called out at fake news spreaders. The 75-year-old, took to his social media handle to request the rumour mongers to “fact-check” before spreading fake news.
Notably, the request from the legend came after several sports websites and individual accounts attributed fake quotes against him over the past few months. In the wake of the same, the 75-year-old urged them to verify and fact-check before opening up about the same.

Furthermore, it has to be seen that Gavaskar’s comments have been going viral after he backtracked on his comments from the Melbourne Test against Australia in the BGT 2024-25. In the first Test in Leeds last week, Gavaskar came up with a new quip after Rishabh Pant reached his hundred as he shouted “Superb, superb, superb” this time.
