In the closing stages of the batting masterclass of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash, captain Rishabh Pant struck a couple of sixes on the bowling of Kagiso Rabada, to help propel his team’s total to 235/2 in their allotted overs. At the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Mitchell Marsh brought up his maiden IPL hundred, while Nicholas Pooran reached yet another fifty, to ensure LSG posted an above par total on the board.
The 20th and final over of the LSG innings was bowled by Kagiso Rabada, and it began poorly for him as the fuller length delivery from him was hit straight down the ground by Rishabh Pant for a six. After getting the strike back for the second last ball of the LSG innings, Pant received yet another full length ball from Rabada, this time outside the leg stump, to which he had already stepped outside the stumps, getting into best possible position to lift it over the deep fine leg fielder for a six without even looking at it.
Rishabh Pant’s no-look six has come at a time when he has struggled to find any rhythm and consistency with the bat for LSG in the IPL 2025. But, with a fluent 16 off six with two maximums and staying not out at the end of the innings could go a long way in helping Pant regain his lost touch not just this season, but also lay a foundation for the next season of the IPL.
