On day four of the second Test between England and India, half-centuries from KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant, followed by a hundred from Shubman Gill have put India at a good spot at Edgbaston in Birmingham. KL Rahul was bowled by an extra-ordinary ball from Josh Tongue which crashed the middle stump and he had to make a return to the pavilion. However, Rishabh Pant, who never fails to amaze in Test cricket, brought up his fifty in some style. His spectacular shots and thumping boundaries left the crowd in awe of him.

However, his extravagant innings was brought to an end by the England spinner Shoaib Bashir who delivered a beauty and Rishabh Pant fell for the trap. The bat went flying towards one end, however this time the ball was caught at the deep mid-off by Ben Duckett which brought an end to another innings from Rishabh Pant scoring 65 runs from just 58 balls with a strike rate of 112. He brought smiles to the crowd with his powerful swing of the bat but his innings left a mark on the England cricket team.

Rishabh Pant creates yet another milestone for the Indian cricket team

Rishabh Pant has created yet another record on the fourth day of this Test match, becoming the first wicketkeeper from India and Asia to score 2000 runs in the SENA countries (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia). This record showcases his adaptability & resilience battling in the tough overseas conditions and producing outstanding performances with his bat.

Rishabh Pant has already scored more than 300 runs in the four innings that he has played in first two Test matches against England, which put an end to all the questions raised on him regarding whether he should be selected following a poor season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He has now played a vital role in boosting the chances of winning at Edgbaston, and it will be interesting to see how this match unfolds on day five.
