In the County Championship game between Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire, an India-Pakistan moment was witnessed. India wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan, who is playing his debut County game, has looked stunning in the game so far. With the bat, he smashed 87 runs off 98 with 12 fours and a maximum. Kishan has become a part of Nottinghamshire in place of South Africa’s Kyle Verreynne, who has reserved himself for the national duties. In the Protean’s absence, Kishan has signed up for a couple of matches.

Following the sensational batting performance, Kishan took an excellent catch as a stumper to get rid of Yorkshire opener Adam Lyth, who failed to counter Pakistan pacer Mohammad Abbas. After dismissing Lyth together, both Ishan and Abbas hugged each other to celebrate the wicket. The moment grabbed the attention as both India and Pakistan haven't played bilateral series against each other in international cricket since 2012-13 due to strained relationship. After the recent Pahalgam attack followed by Operation Sindoor, the relations between both countries hit a new low.

Amiable moment between both players gets reactions on social media

The amiability between Ishan Kishan and Abbas has drawn a reaction on social media. Noting the equation between both players, an X user named Asrar Ahmed wrote, “Wicket falls… and look who’s celebrating the loudest. Ishan Kishan & Abbas Afridi sharing a wild celebration — more energy than the rest of the team combined. #INDvsPAK #CricketUnites #Iran #INDvsENG #ceasefire.”

Noting the current developments between India-Pakistan relations, the gesture between both players matters a lot. It clearly reveals that players’ personal relations haven't been affected. Both South Asian cricket teams last played against each other in the Champions Trophy 2025, a game held in Dubai.
