In the County Championship 2025 Division One match between Nottinghamshire and Somerset, the former’s wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan was seen bowling in the second innings in a rare occurrence. In the four-day match, Kishan was seen in brilliant touch with his bat while batting at number six. The southpaw played a sensational knock of 77 which included 10 boundaries (eight fours and two maximums). Before him, Ben Slater and Jack Haynes shone with their bats and produced the knocks of 124 and 157 respectively. Lyndon James also scored 66 in the game. Riding on their sensational batting efforts, the visitors posted a massive total of 509 in a response to Somerset’s 379.

In the second innings, Tom Kohler-Cadmore played an unbeaten knock of 147 and rescued Somerset from the defeat. In the final over of the match, Kishan was given the responsibility to bowl. As a bowler, he was imitating former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh’s action. On the final delivery of the over, he was seen emulating legendary Shane Warne as well.

Ishan Kishan’s performance in County Championship Division One

Ishan Kishan has exuded confidence with his bat for Nottinghamshire in this tournament. He scored 164 runs with a couple of fifties in two innings at an average of 82.00. Before this tournament, Kishan was a part of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

Kishan hasn’t played any international game for Team India since October 2023.
