The ongoing second Test of the five-match series is currently underway at Edgbaston in Birmingham. With Team India posting a mammoth target of 608 runs for England to chase, they will be now banking on their bowling attack to decimate the hosts and level the series before traveling to London for the third Test, which is scheduled to be played from July 10 to 14 at Lord’s.

As the Indian team batted across the two full sessions on day four of the second Test, a hilarious instance was recorded, video of which have been making rounds on social media. Coming out to bat after KL Rahul’s wicket, Rishabh Pant was joined by Shubman Gill in the middle as they stitched a 110-run stand for the fourth wicket.

What’s your fastest 100?: Harry Brook brags of his record; Rishabh Pant silences him

During Pant’s 65-run knock off just 58 deliveries, Pant faced several attempts by the England stars to unnerve him. Among them, a notable one came by Harry Brook, who looked to tempt Pant in chasing the fastest Test hundred. "What's your fastest 100?" Brook asked. "Test cricket? 80-90 minutes," Pant said in response.

Watch Rishabh Pant's epic response to Harry Brook's fastest Test hundred:

"The fastest I have done is 55 balls. You could have done that today," Brook continued. The India wicketkeeper-batter then gave an epic response that silenced Brook, saying, "It's okay, not very greedy for records. If it happens, it happens." After a 58-ball stay, Pant was dismissed by a combined effort of Shoaib Bashir and Ben Duckett.

Thereafter, as India continued to pile up runs, Shubman Gill finally declared the innings on 427/6, thus posting a 608-run target for the hosts. At Stumps on day four, England had already added 72 runs at the loss of three wickets and need 536 runs to go 2-0 up in the series. On the other hand, the Indian bowlers will be under pressure to pick the remaining seven wickets quickly in order to level the series.
