Royal Challengers Bengaluru are taking on Punjab Kings in the final of IPL 2025 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Coming to bat first, after losing the toss, RCB were looking to get a flying start as Phil Salt collected 13 runs in the first over of the innings, bowled by Arshdeep Singh. However, Salt’s innings couldn’t last long as Kyle Jamieson dismissed him in the next over with the help of a brilliant catch by PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer.
After a good start in the first over, Phil Salt was also looking to continue his form in the second over, bowled by Jamieson and smashed a boundary on the second ball of the over. On the fourth ball, Salt attempted another big hit on a full length delivery but couldn’t time it well. After that, Iyer who was standing at mid-on region, ran backward and ended up taking a great catch to give PBKS a first breakthrough. After taking the catch, Iyer didn’t shy away in showing his aggressive reaction, celebrating the first wicket of the final.
RCB lose two wickets under seven overs in IPL 2025 final
Talking about the match, after Phil Salt’s dismissal, Virat Kohli and Mayank Agarwal took the innings further and didn’t let PBKS take any wicket for the rest of the powerplay. RCB ended with 55/1 in the first six overs. However, Agarwal couldn’t stay at the crease for long as he got out after scoring 24(18) runs in the seventh over. Currently, RCB skipper Rajat Patidar is at the crease with Virat Kohli, taking the innings further.
