Team India One-Day International (ODI) skipper Rohit Sharma has been spotted in the ongoing T20 Mumbai League final between Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals vs SoBo Mumbai Falcons getting played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. In the final game of the tournament, Maratha Royals emerged victorious against Mumbai Falcons to become champions oft the tournament.
During the game, the camera also focused towards the VIP box, where the 2024 T20 World Cup-winning captain was seen relishing the action. In a video doing rounds on social media, Rohit can be seen getting welcomed by spectators with appreciation in the form of claps.
Rohit Sharma’s next international assignment
Rohit Sharma will look to help India hammer Bangladesh in the three-match ODI series to be played in the latter’s backyard from August 17 to 23. In 2022, Rohit became the second India captain after MS Dhoni to lose a 50-over series against the Bengal side. Back in 2022, when the Men in Blue clashed against the Bangla Tigers in a three-match ODI series, Rohit and his men faced a humiliating 2-1 loss.
This time, the 38-year-old will look to avenge that defeat. Following the Bangladesh series, Rohit will also be seen captaining India in the three-match ODI competition against Australia in October. Perth, Adelaide, and Sydney will host the matches and India’s endeavour will be to get the better of the home side. Rohit will look to become the third India captain to win a 50-over series Down Under, following his former senior colleague MS Dhoni and current teammate Virat Kohli.
