Afghan spinner Noor Ahmad turned out to be a match-winner as Texas Super Kings defeated Los Angeles Knight Riders by 57 runs in match number five of the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 at Oakland Coliseum in California on June 16. Noor had a great outing in the recently ended IPL 2025 for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) where he finished as second highest wicket-taker of the season with 24 scalps from 14 matches.

Now playing for CSK’s sister franchise Texas Super Kings in the ongoing MLC season, Noor Ahmad once again shone with the ball with his match-winning figures of 4/25 against LA Knight Riders. The left-arm spinner has taken five wickets from two matches in MLC 2025 so far and is already among the leading wicket-takers of the season. Talking about the match, LA Knight Riders won the toss and asked TSK to bat first.

TSK register second consecutive win in MLC 2025

Batting first, Texas Super Kings posted a total of 181 runs for the loss of four wickets in their 20 overs. Daryl Mitchell top scored with 36*(33), Devon Conway scored 34(22), while Donovan Ferreira gave finishing touches with a quickfire 32*(16) runs. For LA Knight Riders, Tanveer Sangha took two wickets while Andre Russell and Shadley van Schalkwyk scalped a wicket each.

Chasing the winning target, LAKR kept losing wickets at regular intervals with Noor Ahmad giving regular breakthroughs to TSK. None of the batters could play a big knock as LAKR were bowled out for 124 runs in 17.1 overs. For TSK, Noor shone with the figures of 4/25 in his spell of four overs. Apart from that, Adam Milne and Stephen Vishwas Wiig took two wickets each while Zia Ul Haq Muhammad and Daryll Mitchell scalped a wicket each.
