On Tuesday, June 3, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 culminated with Royal Challengers Bengaluru winning their maiden title after beating Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six runs in the summit clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, this day will go down in the history of the tournament’s 18-year-long history as the Virat Kohli starring side, lifted their maiden title under Rajat Patidar’s captaincy.
With the talks around the premier T20 franchise league have now been put to rest for sometime, former India cricketer turned commentator, Navjot Singh Sidhu recently picked his IPL 2025 team. The former cricketer took to his YouTube channel and named his team of the tournament for the 18th edition.

While naming his XI of IPL 2025, Sidhu picked the best of the talents while picking former Mumbai Indians skipper, Rohit Sharma as the captain of his side. However, this decision came a shock as he (Rohit) had a decent season with the bat, amassing 418 runs across 15 matches at a strike rate of 149.28. The 61-year-old’s decision came seeing Rohit’s legacy, including his five IPL tittle, one T20 World Cup and one Champions Trophy victory.
Moreover, he also included the likes of Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, the Pandya brothers - Hardik and Krunal, along with Prasidh Krishna and Jasprit Bumrah. Among the overseas players, he only had four of them, Gujarat Titans' Jos Buttler, Lucknow Super Giants’ Nicholas Pooran, RCB’s Josh Hazlewood and Chennai Super Kings’ Noor Ahmad.
