The first Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, which is being played between England and India is well poised at the moment. After inviting the Men in Blue to bat first, on the back of century knocks from Yashasvi Jaiswal (101), Shubman Gill (147) and Rishabh Pant (134), Team India posted 471 runs on the board in 113 overs. In a notable move, Team India added only 41 runs when they lost seven wickets in quick succession.

After getting bundled out, England resumed their innings in the middle after a brief rain delay. Although, Jasprit Bumrah removed Zak Crawley (4), Ollie Pope and Ben Duckett added 122 runs for the second wicket after Duckett was removed for 62 whereas Pope went on to score his ninth Test hundred.

With Duckett in middle, a hilarious conversation was recorded on the stump mic. Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who is often known to bring out his hilarious side while chirping from behind the wickets, quickly reacted to a delivery from Ravindra Jadeja. “Mei bhi khel raha hu bhai! Apne chauke ke chakkar mei, mera chauka mat de dena (Even I am playing brother! To avoid getting hit for four, don’t end up sending me for a four!)," he said.

In another instance, Ravindra Jadeja sent a good delivery, which Duckett defended. Reacting to the delivery, skipper Shubman Gill screamed, “Abhi ye pura confused hai Jaddu bhai! Kaunsi seedhi hai, kaunsi udhar ayega uska! Abhi isko kuch pata nhi lag raha! (Now he is totally confused Jaddu bhai! Which delivery will come straight, which will come there, he doesn’t know anything.)"

While this will continue when the two teams take the field on Day 3 of the first Test. Speaking of the match, England have added 209/3 in 49 overs in reply to India’s 471. With Ollie Pope unbeaten at 100 off 131 deliveries, he is joined by Harry Brook (0* off 12) as England trail India by 262 runs at the end of Day 2.
