As per the reports, Liverpool have rejected Bayern’s approach for the 28-year-old Colombian winger Luis Diaz. Liverpool are reportedly not interested in selling the Colombian in this transfer window and want him to continue playing for the Reds. They are not interested in holding talks for the left-winger and do not want to negotiate with any club regarding his deal, as per Fabrizio Romano.However, there has not been any talks of extension of the contract from both the sides. He has also stated that he would be happy to see out the remaining two years of his deal if an extension is not agreed.
Diaz has been an integral part of the squad of Liverpool and has managed to score 41 goals and 23 assists in 148 appearances for Liverpool. Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl made contacts with Liverpool identifying Diaz as a potential target for Bayern as Leroy Sane is leaving the club. Bayern identified Diaz as a perfect replacement for Sane. However, Liverpool rejected the approach as Diaz is part of Arne Slot’s plans in the upcoming campaign. Bayern will have to find someone else to replace the outgoing Leroy Sane.

The Columbian arrived at Anfield in the year 2022 from FC Porto, in a deal worth £37.5 m. He signed a Five year contract with Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp was a massive admirer of the style of play of Luis Diaz and he was the one who insisted on buying Luis Diaz from the Portuguese league. His presence has really solidified the team and he has played a major role in winning the titles for Liverpool since the time of his arrival.
DIaz has scored 17 goals in the previous season, which includes 13 in the premier league and a miraculous hat-trick against Leverkusen in the Champions League. He has won several trophies with Liverpool and will be keen on winning more with the support of the fans at Anfield and under the management of Arne Slot.
