In a video going viral on social media, he can be seen smoking a cigar and playing a shot. It wasn’t the first time he was spotted playing golf during the off-season. He has been seen holding the golf stick in several instances during the hiatus. His latest passion has grabbed the attention and there are now speculations whether he can retire from NBA.

Noting his recent activity, netizen thronged on his social media account and posted humorous comments. Some social media users also wrote that 40-year-old is envisaging to retire from basketball to build his career in golf. However, a remark that attracted attention was Stephen Curry’s. The 37-year-old wrote, "Welcome. We've been waiting for you." Both James and Curry are fierce rivals on the court but off the court, both have developed amiability. Their bond solidified after serving Team USA together and winning the gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games, held in Paris.
