In a big development, star players of the Vidarbha Cricket Association, Karun Nair and Jitesh Sharma are reportedly set to leave their current domestic teams prior to the 2025-26 season. The two players, who played a pivotal role in Vidarbha’s successful 2024-25 season, contributed significantly with the bat across competitions.

But, according to latest reports from Cricbuzz, Jitesh Sharma, who captained Vidarbha in white-ball formats, is reportedly on the verge of moving to Baroda. If reports are to be believed, sources within the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) have informed that the wicketkeeper-batter’s transfer is expected to be finalised within the next couple of days. Furthermore, the BCA officials have confirmed that Jitesh will feature in both red-ball and white-ball formats for the Baroda team.

Karun Nair likely to leave Vidarbha; set to return for Karnataka state team

While Jitesh Sharma hopes to return for Baroda, Karun Nair, who recently made his return in the India whites after seven-year gap, is speculated to return to his home state of Karnataka. According to reports in Cricbuzz, the 33-year-old, who is currently in England, is set to make a return to Karnataka due to personal and family reasons and will thus join the team.

Several sources have also informed that the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) is having discussions with Nair for his smooth transfer. Elaborating on Karun Nair’s domestic season, the Karnataka-born has been in exceptional form, scoring 863 runs in the Ranji Trophy and top-scoring in the Vijay Hazare Trophy with 779 runs.
