Shahid Afridi’s social media accounts entered the stage of normalisation with the ban imposed on them been lifted (excluding X). But then, the famous Pakistani cricketer began writing anti-India content on the same accounts. Once again. In that aspect, it would be nice to be reminded of a famous saying that states it clearly that “Once bitten, twice shy!”
But, in the case of former Pakistan all-rounder, a great of the game, one can only state - “Shahid Afridi: what a strange guy!!” In what has come as a rather strange and shocking development, Shahid Afridi’s social media accounts have been blocked in India by the Indian government yet again.
This act, reportedly widely being discussed at the moment on X, comes at a time where despite the ban being lifted by the venerable Government of India, one found Afridi at the centre of a storm again. It didn’t take long for Afridi to once again express opinions and statements that were contrary to the spirit of gentle or civilian conduct between citizens of two neighbouring countries.
Shahid Afridi took a big dig against Indian PM Modi after his social media accounts were unbanned recently
Soon has the ban had been lifted off his Instagram account that he instantly posted a story that read “The Indian government must have realised,” speaking of the unwanted and hideous terror attack, “that Pahalgam was an inside job!” In his very visible dislike towards India, Afridi also took potshots at the respected Indian Prime Minister using phrases like “spineless!”
What is rather strange in this matter is to note how cricketers often take unwanted digs and aims at their opponents’ countries instead of minding their own business. Afridi’s unnecessary dislike of India comes at a time when the two countries are already at loggerheads with India and Pakistan experiencing distraught ties and relations that are anything but amicable at the moment.
