On Friday, July 11, Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz thrashed his opponent, fifth seeded America, Taylor Fritz to advance into the Wimbledon 2025 men’s singles final. The Spaniard, who entered the grass court Grand Slam as the defending champion, defeated his American opponent 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 in a battle which lasted for two hours and 49 minutes at the Centre Court.
During the high-octane semi-final clash, the temperatures soar high, but Alcaraz kept his cool with his sublime returns and spot-on serves to keep the game tight until the last minute and took it in his favour in a four-set battle. With a win, Alcaraz cruised into his third Wimbledon final.

The 22-year-old Spaniard will now lock horns with World No. 1 Jannik Sinner, who reined supreme against 24-time Grand Slam champion and seven-time Wimbledon champion, Novak Djokovic. While the five-time Grand Slam champion will hope to continue his winning run, having on a career-best 24-match winning streak since losing to Holger Rune in the Barcelona final in April.
While Alcaraz sets his eyes on the ultimate prize, he is only the second to reach Wimbledon final on three occasions after Rafael Nadal. Moreover, if he clinches the title this time, he will become the fifth man in the Open Era to win three consecutive Wimbledon titles after Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.
