Trent Boult is a former New Zealand cricketer who represented the national team in all formats between 2011 and 2024. The 35-year-old was a key member of the New Zealand team that won the 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship. He was also a part of the New Zealand squads to finish as runners-up in two Cricket World Cup finals in 2015 and 2019. The New Zealand bowler is still one of the fittest cricketers in the world and continues to play in the domestic formats of the game and play in many leagues around the world.
Currenlty, Trent Boult is representing MI New York (MINY) franchise in the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 season in the United States. MINY finished in fourth place on the table before making the knockout stages. In their most recent match, the Eliminator, they managed to defeat San Francisco Unicorns (SFU) by two wickets in order to progress through to the Qualifier 2 . After winning the toss, captain Nicholas Pooran decided to bowl first. Trent Boult yet again impressed everyone with his magical deliveries producing another fine spell of two wickets by just conceding 19 runs. This was expected from him as he is renowned for his destructive and economical bowling. However, what happened next left everyone in shock and mindblown.

After quick wickets falling down in quick succession for MI New York, they were struggling to chase the 132-run target and were hoping for some miracle to win the match. Trent Boult then came onto bat for the team when they were out of the match. He then put up a show with the bat and scoring a magnificent innings of 22 runs in 13 balls while hitting two sixes in the 19th over with a strike rate of 170.

Boult played a match-winning role for the team as this his innings helped MI New York to win with two balls remaining. He was the most unlikely of players to make an impact with the bat, which helped his team make it through to Qualifier 2 of MLC 2025.
