Legend Sachin Tendulkar has praised Team India skipper Shubman Gill, who has been stunning with his bat in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. After India’s defeat in the opening Test in Leeds, Gill led the side from the front and guided India to a massive 336-run victory at Edgbaston. In the game, he notched up 269 and 161 from his bat to help India hammer the hosts. Gill’s batting also made him the player of the match (POTM). Following the colossal triumph, Gill received appreciation from several formers of the game. Before the third match, Sachin also commended the 25-year-old’s leadership and batting.

Tendulkar highlighted Gill’s composed attitude as a leader. He also feels Gill’s batting is complementing his captaincy. “He’s been good. He’s very calm and composed and I strongly believe that how the rest of the 10 players also react to whatever decision he has taken has been measured decisions, well thought of. His batting is complementing that as well because if a captain is in good form, it makes a huge difference on decision making. You need to be in the right frame of mind to make those important calls. He’s been batting brilliantly,” said Tendulkar in a conversation with Star Sports about Gill.
