After the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, several T20 leagues are underway in India. Among them is the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL), which has returned with its ninth edition. On Sunday, June 8, in the second match of the day in TNPL 2025, Ravichandran Ashwin-led Dindigul Dragons locked horns with the IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans at the SNR College Cricket Ground in Coimbatore.

The Sai Kishore-led IDream won the toss and elected to bowl first, thus inviting Ashwin’s side to put the score first on the board. However, the Dindigul Dragons did not have an outing to remember as they were bowled out for 93 in 16.2 overs. During their batting innings, it was Ashwin who opened with Shivam Singh, but the former was removed inside the powerplay overs.

Batting at 18, Ashwin was adjudged out by the on-field umpire. The decision did not seem to have rested well with the former India international as he was seen engaging in an argument with the lady umpire.

What can be read, the disagreement from Ashwin came seeing that the ball had pitched well outside the leg stump. But once the on-field umpire’s decision was made, he had a hard walk off the field and was even seen smashing his bat onto his pads in anger.
