Former India batter Suresh Raina has written a heartfelt note for his former teammate and 2011 World Cup-winning skipper MS Dhoni after the latter was inducted into the International Cricket Council (ICC) Hall of Fame. Both Dhoni and Raina played a lot of cricket in the international circuit and the Indian Premier League (IPL). Both played alongside each other in Chennai Super Kings (CSK) until 2021. In international cricket, both played with each other over the years. Such is their equation that when Dhoni announced his international retirement in August 2019, Raina also hung his boots for India the same day.

On June 9, 2025, Dhoni was inducted in the ICC Hall of Fame. On the massive occasion, Raina praised the 43-year-old for his calm attitude, instincts and resolute commitment towards his role. Taking to his Instagram handle, Raina wrote, “The Legend Enters the Hall! @mahi7781 incredible career & contributions to cricket have earned him a well-deserved spot in the Hall of Fame. From electrifying finishes to game-changing leadership, Dhoni bhai has left an indelible mark on the sport. His calm demeanor, razor-sharp instincts & unwavering commitment have inspired millions. A true icon & legend of the game, his legacy will continue to inspire generations of cricketers #MSDhoni #HallOfFame #legend."

MS Dhoni's performance in IPL 2025

MS Dhoni’s fans got to witness him in action in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Donning CSK colours, the veteran played 14 matches in the tournament and scored 196 runs in 13 innings. However, Dhoni’s team Chennai didn’t have a great season this year as they ended their campaign at the bottom of the points table for the first time in the history of IPL.

In the competition, when Ruturaj Gaikwad got ruled out due to an injury, Dhoni handled the leadership mantle. He led Super Kings in nine games in which the Men in Yellow could win only three. CSK fans will expect the legend to show up in IPL 2026 as well. Former India captain hasn’t announced retirement from IPL following the 2025 season.
