Chennai Super Kings finally ended their disappointing season with a win as they defeated Gujarat Titans in match number 67 of IPL 2025 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. For CSK, Dewald Brevis turned out to be a star with his fiery half-century against GT. The right-handed batsman scored 57(23) runs as CSK posted 230/5 in their 20 overs. In reply, GT were bowled out for just 147 runs with nine balls remaining in the match. 

After giving a good start with the bat, Ayush Mhatre got out after scoring 34(17) runs. After that, Devon Conway and Urvil Patel added 63 runs for the second wicket. Patel got out after scoring 37(19) runs while Conway scored 52 runs off 35 balls hitting six four and two sixes.

Dewald Brevis’ guide CSK to match-winning total

Shivam Dube also contributed with a quickfire 17 runs off eight balls. After that, Dewald Brevis and Ravindra Jadeja put up a partnership of 74 runs for the fifth wicket. Jadeja remained unbeaten on 21*(18) runs while Brevis got out on the last ball of the innings scored 57 runs off 23 balls hitting four fours and five sixes. For GT, Prasidh Krishna took two wickets while, Sai Kishore, Rashid Khan and Shahrukh Khan scalped a wicket each.

Chasing the winning target, GT got a poor start as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals chasing a mammoth 231 runs. Sai Sudharsan was top scorer with 41 runs off 28 balls but didn't get much support from the other end. At last, GT were bowled out for 147 runs in 18.3 overs. For CSK, Noor Ahmad and Anshul Kamboj took three wickets each. Apart from that, Ravindra Jadeja took two, while Khaleed Ahmed and Matheesha Pathirana scalped a wicket each.
