On Monday, June 9, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced seven new additions to the ICC Hall of Fame. Among the seven, former India skipper and star wicketkeeper-batter, MS Dhoni also found himself in the esteemed list, consisting of the likes of Matthew Hayden, Hashim Amla, Graeme Smith, Daniel Vettori, Sana Mir and Sarah Taylor.
With this, the legendary cricketer became only the 11th Indian to get named in the ICC Hall of Fame after his invaluable contribution to the game during his playing days from 2004 to 2020. It is to be noted that, MS Dhoni became the first and only captain to lead India to all ICC title triumphs. He led a comparatively young team to title win at the 2007 T20 World Cup. He then ended nation’s 28-year-long wait for an ODI World Cup win in 2013, followed by ICC Champions Trophy victory.
