In the third Test of the five-match series, for the prestigious Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, India made a big change in their playing XI, bringing in fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah in place of Prasidh Krishna against England at Lord’s in London. After sitting out of the second Test at Edgbaston in Birmingham due to workload management, the Indian star cricketer will be making his presence felt at the iconic home of cricket, hoping to secure back-to-back Test wins at the venue.

Prasidh Krishna has been left out for Jasprit Bumrah in the third Test, not only because of the pecking order of both bowlers in the Indian cricket team, but also the difficult time that the former had to endure in the first two matches. England and India are currently 1-1 in the five-match series, but the momentum is firmly on the side of the visitors after they won the second Test by a big margin of 336 runs.

At the toss time, England captain Ben Stokes decided to bat first, on a very warm and sunny morning at Lord’s in London in front of a packed house, with the pitch having a bit of grass and moisture. If the opening batters Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett of England are able to play most of the first session on day one, then their team will be all set to put up a big first innings total, which could prove to be crucial in the outcome of the Test match.

Below are the playing XIs of England and India for the third Test at Lord’s in London:
